Life and first steps as a musician

Motivated by his father, who is himself a studio and live guitarist, he started playing acoustic guitar at the age of 14 . He taught himself to play by himself. Musically he was influenced at this time by Metallica , Guns N 'Roses and Nirvana . A Stinger electric guitar was added just six months later . He started writing songs at the age of 16. He was inspired by Pantera and Dimebag Darrell for the first self-written Speed Metal songs . The next path led him to cover band Triple X, which expanded his musical horizons towards fusion (music) , funk (music) and blues .

Other bands such as Bonk! and monster trip followed. Bonk was born in 2002 from the idea of combining what was then American nu rock with German lyrics. The band released an EP entitled Bonk! (2003) and the album Tinnitus (2004) and Zartbitter (2006). They appeared as support for Die Happy , BAP and 2raumwohnung . In addition to Bonny G. Assan , Achim Remling , who is now known under the stage name Achim Petry, also played at Monster Trip . The band, which assigned itself to the New German Hardness , had its own characteristic mix of deep guitars, hard grooves and genre-untypical melodies.

In April 2010 the band Tiefer was founded by Lipps and Bonny G. Assan ( bass ), who were still band members of Thomas Godoj at that time , and Sebastian Netz . Netz still plays in Thomas Godoj's band. There were also Olli Schmitz on drums and singer Philipp Borg. Alternative rock and pop rock with German lyrics played deeper. In October 2011, the album Frei von Schuld was released and was available through the band. The band broke up in May 2012.

Even before the band Tiefer broke up, he came into contact with B-Tight through the management of Achim Petry and thus with the songwriting team who were working on the album Drinne at the time . Five songs on this album were composed, recorded and pre-produced by him.
