The People's Bank Niedergrafschaft eG is a German cooperative bank based in Uelsen ( Grafschaft Bentheim , Lower Saxony ). In addition to Uelsen, there are other branches in Hoogstede , Wilsum , Itterbeck and Georgsdorf in the county of Bentheim .
history
The Volksbank eG Lower County was created by several mergers of independent banks Hoogstede, Wilsum and Uelsen.
In 1989 Volksbank Hoogstede eG merged with Raiffeisenkasse Georgsdorf eG to form Volksbank Hoogstede eG . In 1999, Volksbank Hoogstede eG and Volksbank Wilsum eG merged and operated under the name Volksbank Hoogstede-Wilsum eG . In 2001, Volksbank Hoogstede-Wilsum eG and Volksbank Uelsen eG finally merged under the name Volksbank Niedergrafschaft Uelsen-Hoogstede-Wilsum eG .
The bank has existed under its current name Volksbank Niedergrafschaft eG since 2007.
Cooperative financial group
The bank is part of the cooperative financial group Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken and a member of the Federal Association of German Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken (BVR) and its security scheme. The statutory auditing association is the Weser-Ems eV cooperative association
education
The bank is trained as a bank clerk by means of block lessons at the commercial vocational schools in Nordhorn and the cooperative academy in Rastede. In addition, Volksbank Niedergrafschaft eG offers a dual course of study for a Bachelor of Arts in Banking and Finance as well as training as an IT specialist.
Sports stars
The “Stars of Sports” are an award given by the German Olympic Sports Confederation ( DOSB ) and the Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken to sports clubs for their social commitment . Here, it is not top sporting performance that is rewarded, but social commitment within popular sports. The competition recognizes creative, innovative projects in the areas of health & prevention, integration , children and youth, family, senior citizens, equality between men and women, achievement motivation, climate and environmental protection, volunteering and club management.
In 2016, TSV Georgsdorf, an association from the Volksbank Niedergrafschaft catchment area, took second place in the national finals of the “Stars of Sports” competition. The Georgsdorfer presented the jury with the project “Many create more - TSV Georgsdorf designs an entire village”. Also in 2020, an association supported by Volksbank Niedergrafschaft was successful nationwide. SV Hoogstede took fourth place with its climate protection project “All Days For Future”. The awards were presented in Berlin by Chancellor Angela Merkel .
