Bonny G. Assan (born February 18, 1970 in Hanau ) is a bassist and songwriter, but also a graphic designer and communications specialist .

Career

First steps as a musician

Bonny G. Assan started playing the flute and trumpet very early . Fascinated by the Scottish rock band Big Country , whose songs are dominated by Scottish folk elements, he soon switched to guitar and bass . In addition to folk rock , he was also influenced by other musical influences such as funk rock, alternative rock , but also hip-hop .

From 1994 to 1999 he was guitarist and songwriter for the crossover band Earthcake. They accompanied the American band 24-7 Spys on their complete tour of Germany as support. With the two singles My Sharona and Jump , the band was also present in the media via the VIVA video rotation .

From 2001 to 2006 Assan was guitarist and songwriter for IONIC-1 and Monster Trip. In 2003 a demo was created with Claus Grabke and the producer Siggi Bemm. Achim Remling , who is now known under the stage name Achim Petry, was also a member of the Monstertrip band .

In May 2008 the band Thomas Godoj was founded by the singer of the same name . Bonny G. Assan was involved in both the studio recordings for the albums Plan A! (Platinum Edition) and direction G as well as at various television appearances, festivals and concert tours. He was able to bring his creative side into the making of the songs Everything that doesn't exist and a bit of eternity . Both songs were co-written by former band and are located on the album direction G . They rewrote the latter for the 2010 World Cup as the World Cup song Hand on Heart . As a bass player, Bonny G. Assan was a permanent member of this band between May 2008 and January 2011.

Assan also played bass in the German rock band Tiefer. This band mainly played alternative rock and pop rock with German lyrics. It also included René Lipps on guitar and Sebastian Netz , who also plays in Thomas Godoj's band, Olli Schmitz on drums and singer Philipp Borg. The band, founded in April 2010, broke up in May 2012. He is a member of the Achim Petry band.

In addition to his band activities, he also works as a studio musician. He also accompanies many artists as guest musicians on their TV appearances, such as Lionel Richie , Mariah Carey , Anastacia , Joe Cocker .
