2,2-Dibromo-2-cyanoacetamide ( DBNPA abbreviated from 2,2-Dibromo-3-nitrilpropionamide ) is a biocide . It is mainly used for water disinfection and as an anti-slime agent in paper production. 2,2-Dibromo-2-cyanoacetamide is incompatible with bases and corrodes aluminum.
