2,6-Difluorobenzamide can be obtained from the acid chloride of 2,6-Difluorobenzoic acid and ammonia . Alternatively, a process with ozonolysis based on m- difluorobenzene can be used.

2,6-Difluorobenzamide is required in the synthesis of the insecticides diflubenzuron , flufenoxuron , hexaflumuron and lufenuron .
