Hexaflumuron is a chemical compound from the group of benzoylureas .
Extraction and presentation
Hexaflumuron can be obtained by reacting 2,6-difluorobenzoyl isocyanate with 3,5-dichloro-1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethoxyaniline .
properties
Hexaflumuron is a colorless solid that is practically insoluble in water.
use
Hexaflumuron is used as an insecticide specifically against termites . It inhibits the growth of insects because it intervenes in the synthesis of chitin .
Admission
Hexaflumuron was first approved in the United States in 1994.
Use as an active ingredient in pesticides is not permitted in the European Union. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, no pesticides with this active ingredient are permitted.
