Ascent and descent

The first of the two groups are promoted to the 1st Bundesliga.

The last two teams in the 1st Bundesliga are relegated to their respective groups. Depending on the group affiliation of the relegated from the 1st Bundesliga, one, two or three teams from a group of the 2nd Bundesliga relegate to the regional league of their region.

Club Raffelberg and Großflottbeker THGC are relegated from the 1st Bundesliga for the next season , both are relegated to the North group, so this year there are three relegated members in the North group and only one in the South group.

The two winners of the regional leagues north and west move up to the north group, the winners of the regional leagues east and south in the south group. Second teams cannot be promoted to the Bundesliga, in these cases the top-ranked first team in the regional league moves up.

Newcomers from the regional league for the next season are the Nuremberg HTC and Blau-Weiss Berlin in the south, the Club zur Vahr and the Crefelder HTC in the north .
