Ascent and descent

The first of the two groups are promoted to the 1st Bundesliga.

The last two teams in the 1st Bundesliga are relegated to their respective groups, for the next season these are TSV Mannheim and Bremen HC . Due to the increase to 10 teams, there is only one relegated team per group this year, these are Club zur Vahr in the north and Eintracht Frankfurt in the south .

The two winners of the regional leagues north and west move up to the north group, the winners of the regional leagues east and south in the south group. As a result of the increase, two group runners-up will be promoted from the regional leagues this year, and according to the league membership of the two relegated teams, they will come from RL North and RL South. Second teams cannot be promoted to the Bundesliga, in these cases the top-ranked first team in the regional league moves up.

Newcomers from the regional league for the next season are HG Nürnberg , TSV Schott Mainz and ATV Leipzig in the south , and the Hamburger Polo Club , TG Heimfeld and ETUF Essen in the north .
