Other names Steropes II

22 Tauri (also Sterope II ) is a star located in the Pleiades . Because of the low luminosity and the short distance, the star was previously called steropes together with 21 Tauri (Sterope I). In 2016, however, the IAU set the proper name Asterope as a standardized proper name only for 21 Tauri.

properties

The star has the spectral class A0Vn and is located at a distance of a little over 440 LJ according to Gaia DR2 . This makes it one of the most distant Pleiades . It is possible that 22 Tauri is a double star .
