Other names Taygeta, Taygete

Taygeta (also Tayeta , one of the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione , the Pleiades ) is the proper name of the star 19 Tauri in the Pleiades .

Taygeta, like all stars of the Pleiades, can occasionally be covered by the moon .

Taygeta has an apparent magnitude of +4.30 mag and belongs to the spectral class B6IV. Taygeta is a little over 360 light-years from Earth, whereby the distance, as with all Pleiades, is still afflicted with a relatively large error. The star is changeable and belongs to the star class of slowly pulsating B stars .
