2LHUD [ ˈʈsʃvailu: t ] or 2lhud is a Cologne punk band with influences from the areas of dub and reggae .
Band history
After the breakup on May 1, 1987 , Stefan and Sven founded the band 2lhud together with Reiner from Inner Conflict in order to break free from the deadlocks of their predecessor band. Chris (Lord Louis) and drummer Mitsch joined the line-up. In 2005 the debut album Steckdose >> Licht was released via Nix-Gut Records . Some of the material for the second record [..tsvailu: t] already comes from these sessions . The title is the name of the band in IPA phonetic transcription .
The band also released a few songs on various samplers. In addition to the bands Chefdenker , Amoco Cadiz, Der dicke Polizist , Socks and Supernasst on the 1st Cologne punk rock mini golf tournament DVD , which includes a documentary about a mini golf tournament and five live pieces from each band. The DVD was released by Nix-Gut Records.
style
The band plays German-speaking punk rock with strong influences from dub and reggae. Influences are both The Clash and the Asian Dub Foundation and Dub War . The texts are mostly kept subtle and often deal with social and societal issues. The main topics are informational self-determination , a kind of small town atmosphere with reference to the city of Cologne and social tensions. The band itself describes their style as "PunkReggaeDubCore-Arstufe deLuxe". Reiner also plays with the hardcore band Inner Conflict ; Bass player Chris in the band Hölle un Ääd.
