3-pyrroline is a chemical compound from the group of pyrrolines , a cyclic amine that consists of a five-membered ring that contains a double bond . Its structure is derived from that of pyrrole through the formal hydrogenation of a double bond.

3-pyrroline can be prepared by reduction of pyrrole with zinc dust in acetic acid are shown. Another possibility, which only gives a low yield, is the metathesis reaction of diallylamine with the Schrock catalyst .
