30 Hudson Street (also known as Goldman Sachs Tower ) is a high-rise in Jersey City . It is the tallest building in the US state of New Jersey .
history
Originally, the skyscraper was supposed to be the center of a large building complex of the Goldman Sachs group, which was to include a university and a hotel, among other things. However, many of the company's stock traders refused to leave Wall Street , and the top 13 floors of the building were vacant until 2008. Since 2010 there has been scaffolding around the lower floors of the building to protect pedestrians.
location
The building is located directly on the Hudson River near a ferry terminal with connections to Manhattan . The One World Trade Center is located on the other side of the river at about the same height .
