3 Doors Down is the fourth music album by the American rock band 3 Doors Down . It was released on May 16, 2008 in Europe and topped the US charts, where it hit the market four days later.

The first single from the self-named album was able to do well in numerous countries. It was not only represented in the USA (number 17), Canada (number 20) or in Germany (number 37), but also reached the charts in Australia (number 26), New Zealand (number 18), and the Netherlands (number 49) as well as in Austria (41st place) and Switzerland (49th place). The single went platinum in the US.

In 2007, six months before the album was released, the song Citizen / Soldier , which was used as an advertisement for the National Guard in the USA , was released in the USA and Canada . In the USA it came to number 96, in Canada even to number 59. The song Train also appeared , which made it to number 10 on the mainstream rock charts.

3 Doors Down sold 154,000 times in the USA alone in the first week of sales and jumped to number one on the charts. After Seventeen Days , it was the band's second album that made it to the top of the Billboard charts. By February 2009 the album had sold over 700,000 times across America and was awarded a gold record there. The album received another gold award in Canada.

The reviews were mostly negative. Volker Rueß from laut.de praises the “mighty rocking opener Train ”, but criticizes the “easy-to-digest, feel-good music that leaves a pleasant, (very) important atmosphere." For him, it sounds like “out of the box and boring After the third song at the latest, huge ”. For Albert Ranner from cdstarts.de , 3 Doors Down consists of two songs: "The rebellious, testosterone-driven alternative grunge rockers with pop appeal without rough edges and the semi-ballad that oscillates between loud and quiet." "So if you already have some American albums in your closet, the money for 3 Doors Down can be used for other things without hesitation." Conny Schiffbauer wrote in Rock Hard magazine as follows: “The US modern rockers 3 Doors Down took a year off to find themselves after the stressful career of the past few years. The break was good for the band and their music, because 3 Doors Down scores with more pressure, more solo interludes and just generally more bite than its predecessor Seventeen Days . The riffs in the crisp opener train , the dynamic road track Runaway and the demanding Give It to Me pop out of the speakers with more pithy and hard rock drive. On the other hand, the quintet kneels in the tried and tested manner again in rousing passionate (semi) ballads such as Pages and Let Me Be Myself , whose partly autobiographical texts allow insights into the soul life of the musicians. With These Days and It's the Only One You've Got two toothless average numbers have crept in; these are offset by the strong first single It's Not My Time and the proud anthem Citizen / Soldier . ”8.5 out of ten possible points were awarded; The album received the same rating on average from the readers of the magazine.
