Events
- Hieron I of Syracuse allies with Aristodemus , tyrant of Kyme , in order to counter the expansion of the Etruscans into southern Italy. In the Gulf of Naples , they meet the Etruscan fleet. After their defeat at the Battle of Kyme , the Etruscans largely lose their political influence in Italy. This is probably the time when the monarchy was overthrown in Rome and the Roman Republic was founded.
