5-Headed Shark Attack is an American animal horror film directed by Nico De Leon from 2017. It is the sequel to the two films 2-Headed Shark Attack and 3-Headed Shark Attack . Like its predecessors, it comes from the production company The Asylum .

A mysterious shark is up to mischief off the coast of Puerto Rico . The shark has four heads in front and one more head on the caudal fin , which grows as the film progresses. As the deaths pile up, aquarium owner Thaddeus Marshall senses his chance to earn a lot of money and decides with his team, which also includes marine biologist Dr. Angie Yost heard about hunting the shark. However, he leaves his team in ignorance of his greedy motives.
After the first attempt at hunting fails, he rents the boat of the warrior Red to make a last desperate attempt. The shark is to be attracted with dolphin noises. But all attempts to capture the shark fail, and finally the team decides to kill the shark, especially since the shark has in the meantime disrupted a surfing competition and left many people dead. The animal also kills a humpback whale .
After initially accidentally killing a harmless great white shark, the five-headed shark returns and hunts the fishing boat. Marshall tries to save the situation but dies. Even a helicopter cannot save the occupants of the boat, the shark destroys the helicopter. Although the wreckage falls on the shark and immobilizes it, it can free itself after a short time. Ultimately, Red succeeds in a suicidal act in killing the shark. The survivors, including Red, celebrate their victory.

The film from the production company The Asylum is the third in a series about multi-headed sharks, which began in 2012 with 2-Headed Shark Attack and continued in 2015 with 3-Headed Shark Attack . As with its predecessors, it is a B-film .
The film premiered on July 30, 2017 on Syfy . In Germany the film was first on 28 September 2017 the Pay TV transmitter Syfy HD broadcast. A DVD and Blu-ray version with FSK approval for ages 16 and up was released on October 27, 2017.
