3-Headed Shark Attack (subtitle: ! More heads = more deaths ) is an American horror film of Christopher Ray from the year 2015 . It was produced as a television film by the production company The Asylum for the station Syfy and is a sequel to the film 2-Headed Shark Attack . 5-Headed Shark Attack followed in 2017 .

action

At the beginning you see a party on the beach. There a three-headed shark appears and kills all party guests.

Maggie Peterson is just starting her internship at an underwater station near the Great Pacific Garbage Patch . There she meets her former student colleague Ryan again. The internship should enable a kind of exchange between research and environmental activists . In addition to the two, there are plenty of other students and activists on site. On a first tour, they discover genetic mutations . Suddenly the three-headed shark attacks and destroys the entire station. Ryan, Maggie, and a few others get on a small boat and try to alert the coast guard . Instead, however, they reach Mike Burns and his friends, who set out to help both of them.

In the meantime, a party steamer gets into trouble. Stanley tries to save everyone there, but quickly reaches his limits. Fortunately for them, the little lifeboat reaches the steamer and can at least save him and one other injured person. But the shark damaged the steamer too much and so the group rescues themselves on the boat. You are trying to reach an island and hope to be safe from the shark there.

Shortly before the supposedly safe coast, she also caught up with Mike Burns. His friends shoot the shark with large-caliber weapons, but the shark can kill both of them. Burns himself pulls out a machete and cuts off the shark's middle head. But immediately, like a hydra , three new ones grow and he is killed.

Meanwhile, the group meets a survivor of the beach party, who leads them to two small party boats with integrated slides. They want to flee with it, but the shark sinks one of the boats. However, Ryan, Stanley and Maggie have a plan. They want the shark to eat more and more trash, so that it becomes oversaturated and perishes. To do this, they lure the shark into the North Pacific vortex with the party garbage . But as the shark gets closer, they slowly run out of rubbish. Stanley loses an arm and then sacrifices himself for the group. The shark is over-eaten and attacks its own heads. Finally he dies. Ryan and Maggie survived.

background

3-Headed Shark Attack comes from the production company The Asylum , which specializes in animal horror films (so-called "Creature Feature") and, in addition to its predecessor, is also the creator of the very successful Sharknado series. The film premiered on the Syfy TV station on July 20, 2015 as part of the “Sharknado Week”. It was then available on DVD and Blu-ray . In Germany, the publication took place on October 30 of the same year. In addition to a normal DVD version, there is also a version with 3D effects.

Reviews

3-Headed Shark Attack is primarily a trash film . Similar to the other productions of the studio The Asylum, it is seen by the critics as more or less entertaining. So the film magazine Cinema comes to the conclusion: "More heads and even more nonsense".

“If you like to get used to these circumstances and accept that it is not about serious horror, but about dozen of parodic-colored items that have been rolled down on a very small budget, then you can have fun with it. If there wasn't a fan base for this type of film, 'The Asylum' and other trash studios would have been bankrupt long ago. "
