5D / Brorsen (also known as Brorsen's Comet or Comet Brorsen ) is a comet that was discovered by the Danish astronomer Theodor Brorsen on February 26, 1856.

The orbital period is about 5.5 years. In 1851 the comet came within 1.5 AU of Earth. The comet's orbit was still staggering, compounded by the fact that it was approaching the planet Jupiter in 1854 .

5D / Brorsen was tracked until June 1857 and the railway is now well known. The comet is currently considered lost.
