Aïchatou Maïnassara

Aïchatou Maïnassara (born August 16, 1971 in Niamey ; † April 5, 2020 there ) was a Nigerien politician .

Life

Aïchatou Maïnassara worked in a leading position for the Nigerien Ministry of Finance, for which she worked as a general representative in Tahoua . In the parliamentary elections on February 21, 2016 , she ran for the Nigerien Patriotic Movement (MPN-Kiishin Kassa) of Ibrahim Yacouba in the constituency of Dogondoutchi and entered the National Assembly . Your party won a total of five of the 171 seats in parliament. Maïnassara was one of 29 female MPs in this legislature. In April 2019, she announced that, contrary to the line of party founder Ibrahim Yacouba, she would support President Mahamadou Issoufou of the Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism (PNDS-Tarayya).

Aïchatou Maïnassara had seven children. She died in April 2020 at the age of 48 and was buried in the Yantala Muslim Cemetery in Niamey.
