Aïda Lorenz (* 23 February 1947 as Aïda Weiss in Loerrach ) is a German emergency psychologist and psychotherapist from Berlin. She is a specialist in preventing youth violence in schools and is the author of numerous relevant texts.

Life

After graduating from high school in Konstanz , Lorenz studied psychology in Tübingen, Konstanz and Berlin, where he graduated in 1972 with a diploma.

She initially worked in an education and family counseling center , until 1973 as a lecturer in psychology and pedagogy at a school for educators and began secondary employment as a court expert and advisor. Since 1974 she has been working as a psychologist with a therapeutic assignment in the school psychological counseling center in Berlin-Wedding.

Aïda Lorenz completed additional training in client-centered conversation psychotherapy, is a supervisor (BDP), behavior therapist ( DGVT ), guardian ad litem in family justice, specialist psychologist for legal psychology (BDP / DGPs) and psychological psychotherapist.

After almost 40 years of intensive professional experience in the field of educational psychology and criminology , she has not been working full-time since 2010.

Since 2003 Lorenz has been working as a school psychologist for violence prevention and crisis intervention in the school psychological counseling center in Berlin that looks after the most polluted districts of Mitte, Wedding and Tiergarten. As part of this work, Aida Lorenz became known nationwide alongside her colleagues Bettina Schubert and Manfred Günther (psychologist) | Manfred Günther. As a particularly committed specialist, she gave interviews to print media such as Die Zeit or Stern . Beyond the intensive, everyday practical work - d. H. Casework victims / perpetrators, advising school principals and managing emergency operations - Lorenz excelled in developing numerous handouts, recommendations for action and brochures for the Berlin Senate Department for Education. These include the reader "Courageous, intelligent and strong in action", the visualization of the schedule "Look and act" - a poster for all Berlin schools - and the editorial work on the exemplary emergency plans for (the) Berlin schools (issues 2005, 2011 with Uhle, Kommnick, Steiniger and Winther). Together with the rampage researcher Frank Robertz , she wrote a widespread handout on the subject.

Lorenz gives lectures to the professional public as well as at relevant forums, is a sought-after expert for the podium and regularly conducts teacher training courses. A special focus in the 2000s was the "Prison Project. Young people prepared to use violence meet prisoners behind the prison walls of the Moabit correctional facility".
