connection
The AV Salia-Silesia was founded on April 7, 1992 by Catholic students in Gliwice / Upper Silesia . On November 21, 1992, the founding of the AV Salia-Silesia was solemnly published in front of representatives of other student associations. In 1993 the academic association was initially accepted as a free association in the German Cartell Association, three years later it became a full member. Since 1996/97 the association has expanded its sphere of activity to the university town of Opole and its surroundings. In May 2012, the association celebrated its 20th large-scale foundation festival. On the occasion of the 25th foundation festival in the winter semester 2016/17, a house in Opole could finally be inaugurated.
The AV Salia-Silesia Gleiwitz zu Opole in the CV currently has the number 120 in the association's internal order of the Cartel connections . The official abbreviation is S-Ss . The motto of Salia-Silesia is: Nec aspera terrent! The four internal principles of religio, scientia, amicitia and patria apply . The colors of the no longer existing KDStV Salia zu Breslau (Cologne) were adopted as connecting colors in reverse order to reinforce the tradition of Catholic student associations in Silesia. That is why the colors are "black-orange on a white background".
The newsletter of AV Salia-Silesia is the Salia-Silesia-Blätter , which are published every six months. Salia-Silesia organizes with the connections KDStV Chursachsen Dresden in the CV and the KStV Pragensis zu Prague in the EKV the annual Central European Ringkneipe , which took place for the twentieth time in 2017. An official friendship relationship has existed with the KDStV Wildenstein Freiburg since the 20th foundation festival, which is characterized by numerous mutual visits and joint federal brothers.
