Johannes Baron

Johannes Baron (born January 10, 1966 in Baden-Baden ) is a Hessian politician ( FDP ) and has been a district member of the Main-Taunus district since April 1, 2014 . From 2009 to 2014 he was the regional president of the Darmstadt administrative district .

education and profession

Baron is the son of an architect and grew up in Gaggenau , Baden , where he graduated from high school . He then studied political science at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and graduated in 1990 with a diploma in political science from the Free University of Berlin . Baron initially worked in the training of young people at the Catholic East Academy in Königstein .

Since his student days a member of the FDP , was Baron research assistant and later Regierungsoberrat the time of Wolfgang Gerhardt conducted FDP in Hesse state parliament in Wiesbaden .

In 1998, Baron ran as mayor for the opposition from the CDU , FWG and FDP in his place of residence Bad Camberg . However, he lost the election against the SPD office holder Gerhard Reitz .

From 1999 to 2009 Baron was first city councilor in Kelkheim (Taunus) for two terms in office with the departments of finance, social affairs, youth and municipal utilities. Because of the office he was involved in the municipal companies and the sewage association Main-Taunus and was chairman of the supervisory board of Stadthallen GmbH Kelkheim and in the main committee of the Hessian city council.

At the request of the FDP chairman Jörg-Uwe Hahn , Baron became regional president of the densely populated Hessian administrative district of Darmstadt on July 1, 2009 . With the resignation of the FDP from the Hessian state government , Baron lost his office on March 31, 2014 and Brigitte Lindscheid ( B90 / Greens ) was installed as regional president . Baron has been a full-time district member of the Main-Taunus district since April 1, 2014 .

Baron is a member was from 2001 to 2009 parliamentary group chairman of the FDP in the Main-Taunus district and from 2006 to 2009 a member of the association assembly of the State Welfare Association of Hesse .

Baron is married to a pharmacist and has two grown children. He is a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Borusso-Saxonia Berlin in the CV and band member of the AV Salia-Silesia zu Gleiwitz in Oppeln in the CV and original member of the KDStV Hohenstaufen zu Freiburg in the CV
