Hartmut Wierscher

Hartmut Wierscher (born July 20, 1924 in Breslau ; † March 4, 2014 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). He was President of the Darmstadt District for 19 years and retired in 1987. He lived in Nieder-Ramstadt since 1957 .

education and profession

After being a prisoner of war, Wierscher came to Upper Hesse. With a doctorate in law, he found employment with the Darmstadt Regional Council and rose to become Vice President of the house. After the dissolution of the Wiesbaden administrative district , he was appointed the first district president of the enlarged administrative district on July 11, 1968. He was the president with the longest term in office to date. During his term of office, among other things, the regional reform in Hesse , which lasted from 1970 to 1979, and the creation of the Gießen administrative district at the beginning of 1981.
