The A56 road ( English for road A56 ) is a 115 km long, partially designated as a primary route road in England, which connects Chester with Broughton in North Yorkshire .

course

The road runs as Frodsham Road in a north-easterly direction from the center of the city of Chester, crosses the M53 motorway at its junction with the A55 road (junction 12) and then runs parallel south to the M56 motorway to Frodsham . At the level of junction 12 of the M56, it becomes the primary route, crosses the A533 road , crosses the M56 several times and the A49 road near Warrington . The A50 road is crossed at Grappenhall and the road no longer serves as a primary route. Shortly afterwards, the M6 motorway is crossed, but there is no connection. At the level of the connections junction 8 and junction 7 of the M56, the road turns northeast at a roundabout and becomes the primary route again. Via Altrincham and the junction with the M60 motorway , the Manchester Outer Ring Road, it leads to the center of Manchester , which is left again to the north; the M60 motorway will be crossed again as a ring motorway. The A58 road crosses in Bury and the A56 loses its character as a primary route again. It continues parallel to the M66 motorway to the north and continues at its end as a primary route with separate lanes (dual carriageway) via Rawtenstall to the M65 motorway , which it reaches at junction 8. The road is interrupted until junction 13 of the M65 and then continues via Colne to Broughton, where it ends on the A59 road .
