The A948 road is an A-road in the Scottish council area of Aberdeenshire .
course
The road branches off at a roundabout along the A90 ( Edinburgh - Fraserburgh ) around 25 km north of Aberdeen . After about 200 m, on the eastern edge of Ellon , the A920 (Ellon - Dufftown ) branches off. Bounding Ellon to the north, the A948 initially heads west, but then bends to the north. It runs through the sparsely populated regions of Aberdeenshire and connects various hamlets and individual farms to the road network. After nine kilometers, the course gradually turns to the northwest. The hamlet of Auchnagatt is about 14 km away. The B9030 joins there. The A948 ends after a total distance of 20.5 km on the southern edge of New Deer at the southwest end of the A981 (Fraserburgh – New Deer). It crosses the B9170 ( Inverurie - Turriff ).
