The A920 road is an A-road in the Scottish Council Areas of Aberdeenshire and Moray .
course
The A948 ( Ellon - New Deer ) begins at a roundabout along the A91 ( Bannockburn - St Andrews ). After about 100 m, the A920 branches off from the A948 at another roundabout east of Ellon. It runs through Ellon, where it forms one of the main thoroughfares. After crossing the Ythan River , the road takes a westerly direction and leads through the sparsely populated regions of Aberdeenshire. On its way, it connects numerous farms and hamlets to the trunk road network.
The A920 bypasses Pitmedden and finally reaches Oldmeldrum , where it crosses the A947 ( Aberdeen - Macduff ). In the center of the small town it forms the main thoroughfare. Beyond the crossing of the upper reaches of the Urie , the A920 joins the A96 (Aberdeen– Inverness ) and the two roads are brought together over a distance of around 16 km. At a roundabout, in which the A97 ( Banff - Dinnet ) joins, on the southern edge of Huntly , the two roads separate again. The A920 runs through the center of Huntly and leaves the small town in a westerly direction.
It crosses the A96 and crosses the River Deveron west of Huntly and finally reaches the Council Area Moray. There the road follows the course of the Fiddich River , which it crosses twice. After a total distance of 75 km, the A920 ends where it joins the A941 ( Lossiemouth - Rhynie ) west of Dufftown .
