The AEG C.II was a two-seat reconnaissance aircraft . It was a smaller, improved version of the AEG CI . With it, AEG responded to the military's request for a more agile aircraft model in October 1915.

Compared to the previous model, the cockpit and the assembly of the machine gun have been changed, and a weight reduction of around 5% has been achieved. A bomb holder for four 10 kg bombs was also installed.
