The main building, the so-called bed house, has a total of twelve floors, two of which are basement floors. A five-storey functional building is attached to the ward block, there is a direct transition to each connected floor (basement to 2nd floor). The ward block houses two ward wards from the 2nd to the 8th floor. The private ward is on the 9th floor, the intensive care unit on the 1st floor. In the functional building there are operating rooms in the basement, such as the bed center, the laundry and numerous technical rooms. The emergency room can be found there on the ground floor. The operating theaters are located on the top two floors of the functional building .

Immediately to the right of the main entrance, on a former part of the parking lot, is House M, a temporary solution made of containers, which is not directly connected to the main entrance.

The geriatric building with 5 floors, built in the late 1990s, is located directly on Jüthornstrasse; it houses three wards and the day clinic. The geriatric building is connected to the ward block by a tunnel in the basement.

On the site there is a former nurses' home with two buildings (houses A and B), which, however, has been used for other purposes for many years. Building A houses a medical aid sales office , a dialysis practice and the human resources department. The Hanseatic Center for Occupational Medicine is located in Building B.

The new central emergency room is directly connected to the ward block, there is a transition in the basement. The new building was necessary due to the fire in 2007 and replaced the temporary structure in a former station on the ground floor of the functional building in spring 2011.

On March 1, 2011, the psychiatry , which is operated as an external location of the Asklepios Clinic North , was opened. The psychiatry has five wards, each with 22 beds. The psychiatry is connected to the infrastructure of the Wandsbek Clinic (geriatrics) via a connecting bridge. In this way, the infrastructure can also be used and costs for patient transport to other locations and for your own care can be saved.

The clinic had a small park with a pond, which, however, had to give way to the new buildings. There is a helipad on the meadow to the left of the main entrance .

Fire

On the night of January 30, 2007, there was a major fire in the hospital's emergency room. A mentally confused 26-year-old woman set a mattress on fire. The fire almost completely destroyed the emergency room, causing millions in damage. A 74-year-old patient died, and 16 other people suffered smoke inhalation.

Stationed emergency vehicles

The emergency doctor vehicle 21 Anton (NEF 21A) of the Hamburg professional fire brigade is stationed at the clinic and is manned by doctors from the intensive care unit. In an adjoining building there is also a branch of the KBA Krankentransporte, Behinderten- und Altenhilfe eV , where around two dozen emergency vehicles are stationed.

Transport links

The clinic is on the bus lines 10 and 263, the express bus 35 and the night bus 618 at the bus stops AK Wandsbek (main entrance) and Bovestraße (input geriatrics) from Wandsbek Markt or the Wandsbek railway station to reach.
