Radeon series logo

Radeon M (M for Mobility) is a brand name of the AMD company , under which graphics processors for the notebook sector are sold. The series is the direct successor to the ATI Mobility Radeon and competes with the "Geforce M" series from Nvidia .

Radeon HD 6000M series

The graphics processors RV810 to RV940 are used in the Radeon HD 6000M series; these are also used in the desktop series of the Radeon HD 6000 and Radeon HD 5000 .

  • All HD 6xx0M are based on TeraScale-2 architecture with Shader model 5.0 and support DirectX 11.0, OpenGL 4.4 and OpenCL 1.2.

Remarks

1The specified performance values ​​for the computing power via the stream processors, the pixel fill rate, the texel fill rate and the memory bandwidth are theoretical maximum values. The overall performance of a graphics card depends, among other things, on how well the available resources can be used or fully utilized. There are also other factors that are not listed here that affect performance.

Radeon HD 7xxxM series (London)

Some of the models in the Radeon HD 7000M series presented in 2011 were renamed the Radeon HD 6000M models for marketing reasons. However, new GCN models with 7700M and higher were also introduced here.

  • All HD 7xx0M with RV9xx are based on TeraScale-2 architecture and support DirectX 11.0, OpenGL 4.4 and OpenCL 1.2 and not Vulkan.
  • All HD 77x0M are based on GCN architecture and support DirectX 11.1 for Windows 7 (11.2 on Windows 8.x, 12.0 on Windows 10), OpenGL 4.5 and OpenCL 1.2. With driver update to Crimson 16.3 (March 2016) and higher: OpenGL 4.5, OpenCL 1.2 or 2.0 and Vulkan 1.0.
  • In the current driver generation Adrenalin, OpenGL 4.6 for GCN is available from version 18.4.1.

  • All models of this mobile series are based on GCN (Graphics Core Next) architecture.
  • All HD 8xx0M are GCN-based and support DirectX 11.1 (12.0 for Windows 10), OpenGL 4.4 and OpenCL 1.2, with driver update to Crimson 16.3 and higher: OpenGL 4.5, OpenCL 2.0 (GCN 1: 1.2+) and Vulkan 1.0
  • All models have 256 kB or 512 kB L2 read / write cache
