A Chinese Ghost Story II

A Chinese Ghost Story III ( Chinese  倩女幽魂 III: 道道 道 , Pinyin Qiànnǚ Yōuhún Sān: Dào Dào Dào , Jyutping Sin 3 neoi 5 Jau 1 wan 4 Saam 1 : Dou 6 Dou 6 Dou 6  - "A Chinese Ghost Story III: Dao "Dao, Dao") is the third film in a trilogy from 1991 from the genre of wuxia , fantasy and ghost stories .

action

A young monk named Fong and his old master spend the night on their hike in a ghost forest. While the old master faces the challenge of the supernatural beings, the young Fong feels drawn to the beautiful fairy Lotus, who - as in the first part of the trilogy - is ruled by an evil tree demon.

background

The third part of these tales seems to be a remake of the first part in the series. In fact, it is an immediate continuation of the events after the tree demon, who is only "banished" for 100 years in the first part, has risen again. For the German DVD version, the film had to be completely re-synchronized, whereby the synchronization script was completely revised.

criticism

Lexicon of international films : The continuation of the first two ghost stories (1987 and 1990) is again carried more by the melodramatic story and places greater emphasis on comedic accents. "Splatter" scenes are kept to a minimum; instead, some allusions to Hong Kong's current political problems are hidden in the plot.
