General Collection of Voyages and Travels

A General Collection of the best and most interesting voyages and travels in all parts of the world, or General Collection of Voyages and Travels for short, is a collection of travelogues published in seventeen volumes from 1808–1814, written by the Scottish antiquarian, cartographer, author, numismatist and historian John Pinkerton (1758–1826). The series was published in London by Longman, Hurst, Rees, and Orme [etc.]. The monumental body of work consists of six volumes to Europe , five to Asia , three to America and two to Africa with the following breakdown: Vol 1-6.. Europe ; Vol. 7-10. Asia ; Vol. 11. Asian Islands ; Vol. 12-13. North America ; Vol. 14. South America ; Vol. 15-16. Africa ; Vol. 17. Supplement (with a general index):
