Aar Paar (translated: This and That ) is a Hindi film by Guru Dutt from 1954.
action
Kalu is a taxi driver who was arrested for speeding. However, thanks to his good behavior, he was released two months before he was actually released. But his old employer no longer wants to hire Kalu as a taxi driver.
He tries his luck with a garage owner. Whereupon he meets his daughter Nikki, with whom he falls in love. Kalu asks for her hand, but the father refuses. That's why they both want to run away. But Nikki missed the agreed time and Kalu went to a club and took a job as a driver for Captain, whose gang still consists of a dancer and Rustom.
But Kalu doesn't know what he's got into: Kalu serves as a smuggler. When Kalu realizes what is going on, he wants to get out, but the captain cannot allow this.
The dancer continues to show interest in Kalu, but soon realizes that he is only in love with Nikki. For this she wants revenge and convinces Captain Nikki to kidnap. With Rustoms help, Kalu can free Nikki from captivity and is now holding the gang captive. Kalu becomes a hero and Nikki's father happily agrees to the marriage.

criticism
The innovative and for its time daring film aroused divided reactions from contemporary audiences with its light-footed boldness. He shows Dutt's extraordinary talent for the cinematic implementation of pieces of music.
