Aaron McCusker

Aaron McCusker (born November 26, 1978 in Portadown , County Armagh ) is a Northern Irish actor . He gained fame mainly through the British television series Shameless and through his impersonation of Freddie Mercury's friend Jim Hutton in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody .

life and career

Aaron McCusker is from Portadown and was part of the local drama group The Phoenix Players . He has been on the theater stage since around the turn of the millennium.

He made his first appearance in front of the camera in 2002 in the television film Murder . After appearances in series such as Ultimate Force , The Rotters' Club and The Bill , he was seen as Jamie Maguire in the series Shameless from 2007 in a leading role, which he played in over 100 episodes until 2013. He then took on guest appearances in other series, including in the US. For example in Demons , Dexter , Silent Witness , 24: Live Another Day and Castle .

In 2015 McCusker took on a supporting role as DS Adam Kemp in the Sky series Fortitude . He was also seen as the astronaut Wally Schirra in The Astronaut Wives Club . This was followed by a supporting role as Martin in Women on the Verge .

In 2018 he gained international attention as Jim Hutton, friend of Freddie Mercury, played by Rami Malek , in the screen biography Bohemian Rhapsody .

McCusker currently resides in the village of Hale , near Manchester, with his wife Jennie Sutton, whom he married in 2009, and their children .
