The Abantgöl trout , also called Abantsee trout ( Salmo abanticus ), is endemic to the Abant Gölü lake near Bolu in Turkey . This fish feeds on insects, but also smaller fish. The lake has no major tributaries, but is fed by underground springs. Therefore, the fish spawn at these springs.
The Abant sea trout can reach sizes of over 70 cm, the average is between 25 cm and 50 cm.
