Abdul Hakim Tabibi

Abdul Hakim Tabibi ( Pashtun ډاکټر عبدالحکيم طبيبي; * October 24, 1924 in Kabul ) is a former Afghan diplomat and politician .

Life

Abdul Hakim Tabibi speaks Deri and Pashtu, is married and attended Habibia High School. He was a civil servant in the Afghan Development Bank. From 1943 to 1946 he studied law at the University of Kabul . From 1949 to 1953 he completed a master's degree at George Washington University . From 1952 to 1954 he studied at the American University in Washington, where he became doctor doctorate was. From 1948 to 1953 he was employed in Washington, DC . From 1953 to 1954 he headed the Politics Department in the Afghan Foreign Ministry. From 1954 to 1963 he was Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of the Afghan Government at the UN headquarters in New York City.

In 1964 he was ambassador to Belgrade. From 1965 to 1966 he was Minister of Justice. From 1967 to 1970 he was ambassador to Tokyo , Japan. From 1967 to 1971 he was ambassador to Manila in the Philippines. From July 29, 1970 to 1973 he was Ambassador to New Delhi , India and was also accredited to the government in Kathmandu , Nepal . He was appointed head of the permanent mission of the Afghan government at UN headquarters in New York City in 1973 and held this post until 1980 - the start of the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan .
