Abiodun "Abi" Oyepitan (born December 30, 1979 in London ) is a British sprinter .

At the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001 , she reached the quarter-finals over 100 m and came in fifth with the British team in the 4 x 100 meter relay . Shortly thereafter, she won over 100m gold at the Universiade .

The following year she won bronze with the English team at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester and was sixth over 100 m at the European Athletics Championships in Munich .

In 2003 she reached the quarter-finals at the World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis over 200 m .

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she reached the semi-finals over 100 m and was seventh over 200 m.

A fatigue fracture and injuries to the Achilles tendon prevented her from continuing this performance in the years that followed.

Abiodun Oyepitan is trained by Tony Lester and starts for the Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers. She graduated from Brunel University with a degree in political science and sociology .
