The Académico Futebol Clube Cav C • MH IH is a Portuguese sports club from Porto . The association was founded by students on September 15, 1911 in the Bonfim district .

In the 1934/35 season , Académico was one of the founding members of the Primeira Liga . After that, Académico played four more times in the top division, the last time in the 1941/42 season .
The football department was given up some time later and the other departments were promoted.

- Manuel Fonseca e Castro : the first Portuguese national football player from Porto
- José Prata de Lima : the first Olympic participant from Porto . He took part in the 1928 Summer Olympics as a track and field athlete .
