Achaimenes
Achaimenes ( Old Persian Hachāmanic , Elamish Hakamanuish , Akkadian Amanischa , Aramaic Ahamenesch , ancient Greek Ἀχαιμένης , Latin Achaemenes / Achaimenes ) was the founder of the Achaemenid dynasty, to which the great kings of the ancient Persian Empire belonged. This kingdom is therefore also called the Achaemenid Empire . The name Achaimenes means "with a kind spirit".
Achaimenes is said to have been around 701 BC. Led the great migration of the Persians from the area south of the Urmia lake to the south through the area of the Medes and Elamers , which was finally ended with the settlement in the area around the later Persepolis . The clay tablets found in Susa testify that the Persians began as early as 685 BC. Held fiefdoms in Elamite territory.
Allegedly, according to Greek mythology, he was the son of Perses and grandson of Perseus , after whom the Persians were named, and was fed by an eagle.
