Console is an electronics band that was founded as a solo project by Martin Gretschmann , a German musician from Weilheim in Upper Bavaria . Gretschmann was a member of the independent band The Notwist (1997-2014) and is a member of 13 & God . Gretschmann also publishes under the project name Acid Pauli .

history

Martin Gretschmann started playing bass in various independent rock bands as early as the early 1990s, e.g. at Toxic with Axel Fischer (guitar, vocals), Matthias Laub (drums) and Christian Schröcker (guitar), with whom he played released the album railtracks (Kollaps / Supermodern) and played numerous concerts (including supporting a The Notwist tour). The first release of three electronic pieces under the name Console took place in 1995 via the indie label Kollaps on the sampler The Day My Favorite Insect Died . From 1996 Gretschmann became a member of The Notwist . In 1997 the debut album Pan Or Ama was released on the Weilheim label Payola . 1999 followed with 14 Zero Zero, his most successful single to date. In 2001 he published his piece Crabcraft practically unchanged as heirloom on Björk's request on her album Vespertine .

Since 1998 Console has also been working with the radio play author Andreas Ammer . Pieces such as On the Tracks or Spaceman '85 were created , with which the two also tour Germany. With Have You Ever Heard of Wilhelm Reich? (2009) both u. a. at the Fusion Festival .

In 2005 Gretschmann opened the Munich Club Rote Sonne together with Peter Wacha , Dorothea Zenker, Richard Rieger, Bernd Bergmann and Sven Künast .

Gretschmann composed the soundtrack as Acid Pauli for the film Es war Indianerland (2017).
