Adèle Koekkoek , born as Adelaide Alexandrine Koekkoek (born October 28, 1838 in Kleve , † 1919 in Koblenz ) was a German painter of landscapes and still lifes .

Life

Adèle came from the Dutch Koekkoek family of painters . The artist was the fourth of five daughters of the painter Barend Cornelis Koekkoek and Elise Therese Daiwaille , including Maria Louise Koekkoek , and granddaughter of the painter Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek . She mainly painted floral still lifes in the style of her mother, but also landscapes. Her works were created between 1853 and 1919. Some of her works are shown in the BC Koekkoek House in Kleve ( Stilleven met bloemen en fruit , 1873) and in the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam .

The Adèle Koekkoeks family emigrated to the United States in the early 20th century . In 2016, a bundle of Koekkoek works of art from the hands of the descendants there returned to the BC Koekkoek house, including a child portrait of Adèle painted by her grandfather Jean Augustin Daiwaille.
