Ada Pellert (born March 18, 1962 ) is an Austrian economist and has been the rector of the Open University in Hagen since March 2016 . In August 2018, she was appointed to the newly founded 10-member Digital Council of the German Federal Government.

From 2005 to 2008 Pellert was professor for further education research and educational management at Danube University Krems . From 2009 to 2015 she was president and professor for organizational development and educational management at the German University for Continuing Education in Berlin . From November 2011 to February 2016 she was President of the Carl Benz Academy in Beijing .

education

Ada Pellert graduated from high school in Vienna in 1980. This was followed by a degree in business administration at the University of Graz and the Vienna University of Economics and Business , which she completed in 1985 with a master's degree. In 1987 she obtained a doctorate in social and economic sciences at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Pellert completed his habilitation in 1998 in organizational development with a focus on scientific and educational institutions at the University of Klagenfurt .

Positions

Pellert worked from 1987 to 1992 as a research assistant at the project center "Education and Regional Development" at the Faculty for Interdisciplinary Research and Training (IFF) in St. Pölten / Vienna. She then turned to international comparative education and university research, further training for university lecturers and advising university institutions. From 1992 to 1999 she was a university assistant in the department “Theory, Organization and Didactics of Science” in Vienna. After her habilitation in 1998, she worked until 2005 as an associate professor in the "University Research" department of the Faculty for Interdisciplinary Research and Advanced Training at the University of Klagenfurt (IFF). At the same time, from 1999 to 2003 she was Vice Rector of the University of Graz for teaching, personnel development and the advancement of women. From 2005 to 2008 she worked at the same time as Vice Rector at Danube University Krems and as university professor for further education research and educational management at Danube University Krems. From 2009 to 2015 she was the founding president of the German University for Continuing Education in Berlin, as well as professor for organizational development and education management there. From the end of 2011 to February 2016, she was also President of the Carl Benz Academy in Beijing.

Pellert has been rector of the FernUniversität in Hagen since March 2016 (as of 2020). Since September 2016 she has also been chairwoman of the cooperation platform for the Digital University of North Rhine-Westphalia (DH-NRW), and since August 2018 a member of the Federal Government's Digital Council.
