Adalbert Androvits (born January 9, 1926 in Timișoara , Kingdom of Romania , † 2005 ) was a Romanian football player . The defender played a total of 141 games in the Divizia A . He won the Romanian Cup with CCA Bucharest in 1949 .

Career

Androvits' career began in the youth of CAM Timișoara . In 1946 he was the club which at that time Romania in the second division, which in the first team squad Divizia B played. After he and his team in the season 1947/48 had missed in second place of the season 3 the rise, he transferred to local rivals CFR Timisoara in the Divizia A . Half a year later he was signed by CSCA Bucharest . With CSCA he won his first title with a 2-1 victory in the 1949 cup final against CSU Cluj .

Androvits left Bucharest in mid-1950 and returned to Timișoara to CFR, which at that time operated under the name Locomotiva . In the 1950 season he was able to achieve four goals in five games. In the following years he was used in about half of his team's games. This only changed in the 1954 season , when he became a regular and was able to finish the championship in fourth place. Then he fell with his team in the lower third of the table and had to leave Divizia A after relegation in 1956 . Androvits played with his club for three years in Divizia B. In the 1958/59 season , he missed the return to the House of Lords as runner-up behind Minerul Lupeni . In 1960 he ended his career.

National team

Androvits played seven games for the Romanian national team . He made his debut on October 11, 1953 in a 2-1 win over Bulgaria in the third qualifying game for the 1954 World Cup . In the fourth and decisive qualifying game two weeks later against Czechoslovakia , he was in the Romanian team and lost 1-0.

Androvits was then not used for almost two years. He returned on September 18, 1955 in a friendly against the GDR and led the Romanians to the field as captain in the 2-3 defeat . He was also given this honor in the following two friendlies in 1955. In the friendly against Norway , he played his last international match on June 28, 1956.
