Adam Menelaws ( Russian Адам Адамович Менелас * 1753 in Edinburgh , † August 31 . Jul / 12. September  1831 greg. In St. Petersburg ) was a Scottish - Russian architect .

Life

In 1784 Menelaws was invited to work in Russia . He came to Tsarskoye Selo and worked for Charles Cameron . From mid-1785 he worked in Torzhok and Mogiljow with Nikolai Alexandrowitsch Lwow .

From 1800 Menelaws was the architect of Count Razumovsky . In 1798 Menelaws became the architect of the School of Practical Agriculture in Tsarskoye Selo. After Lvov's death in 1803, Menelaws carried out his own construction projects for private clients in the Ukraine , near Moscow and Moscow. From 1816 he was the architect of Count Stroganow for the Marino manor near Tosno .

Menelaws was buried in Tsarskoye Selo.
