Adam Seigfried

Adam Seigfried (born July 30, 1936 in Bácsordas ) is a German theologian .

Life

From 1949 to 1957 he attended the humanistic grammar school in Graz . From 1957 to 1967 he studied philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome ( Pontificium Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum de Urbe ). From 1958 to 1963 he was a religion teacher in Vicarello / Bracciano . After being ordained a priest on October 10, 1963, he was a religion teacher and chaplain in the parish church of Köflach from 1967 to 1968 . From 1963 to 1967 he was pastorin Vicarello / Bracciano. From 1963 to 1974 he was the official chaplain on German and Greek luxury liners. From 1968 to 1972 was a chaplain at St. Michael's Church, New Haven, Connecticut . From 1972 to 1974 he was chaplain in St. Andrä (Graz) . From 1974 to 1982 he was the chaplain and church rector in the St. Benedikt children's home, Vienna. Since 1983 he has been a temporary priest in St. Anton (Regensburg) . In 1967 he received the Dr. theol. , 1971 Dr. phil. (Gregoriana) and in Vienna 1982 the habilitation . In 1967 he attended the Institut Catholique de Paris . From 1968 to 1972 he was a research fellow at Yale University . From 1974 to 1982 he was a research assistant at the University of Vienna . In 1982 he was awarded the Cardinal Innitzer Prize for Theology . From 1982 to 1983 he taught as a lecturer at the University of Vienna. In 1983 he became a full professor of systematic theology (dogmatics, history of dogmas) at the University of Regensburg , where he was dean of the Catholic theological faculty from 1990 to 1992 and vice dean of the Catholic theological faculty from 1992 to 1994. Since October 2001 he has been Professor Emeritus .
