Building description

The cross-shaped building from the late Renaissance has a two- bay nave with a square crossing with short transverse arms. This is followed by a one-yoke, just completed choir . A flat dome arches over the crossing, otherwise there are barrel vaults on double belts and pilasters . The sacristy is built to the east of the choir closure. The three-axis west gallery with a central balustrade is from the beginning of the 18th century. The Gothic tower has an eight-sided pointed spire .

The baroque wall paintings in the vaults are by Joseph Adam von Mölck . They are dated 1777. In the choir of the Assumption of Mary , the church patroness, who anoints Christ's feet, as well as the four evangelists , the women at the grave, Christ in the garden (“ Noli me tangere ”), the resurrection of Lazarus and Mary Magdalene before Christ are represented in the crossing .

The altarpiece with the depiction of the atoning Magdalena, also by Mölck, is from 1776; also the two side altar pictures with representations of St. Nikolaus and Maria with the hll. Dominic and Lambert. Next to it is a painted, Gothic winged altar (around 1470), which presumably comes from the Franciscan monastery Maria Lankowitz and was donated by the knight Georg von Gradner († 1476).

On the outside wall of the church tower is a baroque group of crosses from the second half of the 18th century. The bell is from 1521 and made by Nikolaus Grünwald .
