Adam de Villebéon (* probably 1183/85; † January 28, 1235 ) was Grand Chamberlain of France from 1223 until his death . He is a member of the Le Riche family .

Life

Adam de Villebéon was the son of Gauthier II. De Villebéon and Elisabeth de Mondreville († 1234).

Gauthier II. De Villebéon took part in the Damiette Crusade (Fifth Crusade) with his sons Adam and Mathieu . All three were captured there in autumn 1219 by the Saracens after a battle. While Adam was soon released, Gauthier and Mathieu were missing, apparently they had died in captivity.

Adam inherited the lordships of Villebéon , La Chapelle-Gauthier , Tournanfuye, Bagnaux , La Celle-sous-Moret and Fontaine Guérart from his father or brother .

Gauthier II. De Villebéon had been Grand Chamberlain of France from 1205 until his death , the same office was entrusted to Adam in 1223.
