Adiat Disu

Adiat Disu Isha Sesay (born January 10, 1987 in Nigeria ) is an American entrepreneur in the fields of marketing , fashion and mass media .

Origin and education

Adiat Disu's parents are from Nigeria and Ghana . She was born in Nigeria in 1997. She studied at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire , before being admitted to Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts . There she completed her studies in 2008 as a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology , Marketing & Communication .

Career

Adiat Disu worked for a while as an allocation analyst at the US retail giant TJX Companies and then as an operations and communications analyst at IBM , where she had contacts with over 600 IT analyst firms including Gartner and Ovum .

In February 2009, founded Disu Adirée , a company for public relations , marketing and retail , headquartered in New York and an office in Lagos , Nigeria. The company's target group is to be the socially and ecologically minded consumer. The aim is to develop global awareness of high-performing African brands.

Adirée's list of customers includes private and non-profit companies as well as government agencies (e.g. the United States Agency for International Development ) and also media brands such as Verisk Analytics or Hearst Magazins, for which Adirée developed and launched the first media presence in West Africa. Beauty brands such as Kimora Lee Simmons , Shinto Clinical , Pikolinos Shoes and Iman Cosmetics are also looked after by Adirée, as are well-known personalities such as the fashion designer Korto Momolu or the musician Akon .

Adirée has organized the annual Africa Fashion Week New York during New York Fashion Week since 2009 .

In addition, Disu also works as an author for Entrepreneur Magazine .
