The Adler Diplomat is a car model that the Adler automobile company released in 1934 as the successor to the Standard 6 and Standard 8 models . The decision was made to change the name, as the term “standard” was reminiscent of a simple, backward automobile, which of course was not considered to be very sales-promoting. In contrast to its predecessor, the Diplomat had a low frame (low bed frame).

In 1935 the long and short versions of the car were revised; the shape of the radiator grille and the fenders resembled the smaller models Primus and Trumpf . By 1938, 3205 copies of both versions had been produced.
