Adolph Amberg

Adolph Amberg (born July 31, 1874 in Hanau ; † July 3, 1913 in Berlin ) was a German sculptor , medalist and designer and modeller for table decorations made of precious metals and porcelain. His work can be assigned to Art Nouveau .

Life

In 1884/85 Adolph Amberg attended the drawing academy in his hometown, then the teaching institute of the Berlin Museum of Applied Arts. After a stay in Paris , where he attended the Académie Julian , he moved to the Royal Academy of Arts in Berlin . There he was a master student with Louis Tuaillon .

From 1894 to 1904, various silver implements were made for the Peter Bruckmann & Sons silver goods factory in Heilbronn . With a view to the upcoming wedding of the Prussian Crown Prince in 1904/05, Amberg designed the centerpiece entitled “Wedding procession”. The elaborate, monochrome white in the original version, composed of numerous figures porcelain cycle but found no favor and was only from the 1908 Royal Porcelain Manufactory made (KPM) in Berlin. It has been published several times and also exists with subtle golden or colored accessories.

In 1905 he made the frescoes in the wedding room of the Heilbronn town hall , the furnishings of which were donated by his company.
