Adolf Blaim

Adolf Blaim (born November 3, 1942 in Gars , Lower Austria ; † May 5, 2004 in Irnfritz-Messern ) was an Austrian painter , illustrator and gallery owner .

Life

Blaim was born in Gars am Kamp in 1942 and has lived with his wife Elfriede and their nine children in Messern in the Waldviertel since 1964 . After completing his apprenticeship as a painter, the artist passed his master's examination in 1963. From an early age, Blaim was also active as an artist, then from 1980 as a freelance painter and gallery owner in his hometown.

Since 1970, Blaim has been represented as a member of the Austrian Artists' Association at numerous exhibitions, including in the Federal Chamber of Commerce, in the casinos in Baden , Graz and Velden . He was best known for his illustrations - more than 1,000 for the books by the herb pastor Hermann-Josef Weidinger ; and a total of eight art print volumes, which made him a personality of the Austrian art scene. In 1979 both the Frankfurt and the Austrian Book Fair presented the volume “Adolf Blaim and his wildflower watercolors”, and in 1994 the Austrian National Library presented Blaims “Scheunen - Höfe - Keller”.

After the celebration of the Requiem on Thursday, May 13, 2004, Adolf Blaim was led to his final rest.
